Two Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (T-FA) is any authentication protocol that requires two independent ways to establish identity and privileges. This contrasts with traditional password authentication, which requires only one factor (knowledge of a password) in order to gain access to a system.

Spyware

Spyware refers to a broad category of software designed to intercept or take partial control of a computer's operation without the informed consent of that machine's owner or legitimate user. Spyware is a type of program that watches what users do with their computer and then sends that information over the internet e.g. key logging software.

Key Logging

Software that captures the information that you type on the keyboard. Often used to capture passwords and personal details.

Phishing

Phishing is fraudulent activity attempting to acquire sensitive information, such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by posing as trustworthy source. Phishing is typically carried out by an email request for information or by luring a user to a non legitimate website.

WAP

Wireless Application Protocol is a standard for applications that use wireless communication. It is used primarily to enable access to the Internet from a mobile phone or PDA.
